The 80/20 Aluminum Loading Cart Kit – rugged, lightweight, and versatile.
This DIY project kit is all about functionality, and it delivers. The high strength-to-weight ratio of the extruded aluminum allows for heavy loading and easy maneuverability, and the sturdy wheels and handles are meant for years of constant use.
In addition, the modular 80/20 system allows the whole kit to be quickly assembled and disassembled even by novice users – making transportation issues much less stressful.

Step 1
First up: the base frame.
Start by connecting one 30” T-Slot Rail, one 28” rail, and two 24” rails in the shape of a rectangle, using Angle Joints on the inside corners (as seen in the diagram above).
And remember, it’s okay to hand-tighten everything on the first pass; and to come back around later to snug all the connections up.
Next, use four Angle Joints to install a 20” center rail in the middle of your base.
Finally, attach a 4.25” T-Slot rail at one end of a 19” rail at right angles (using Angle Joints). Then, attach this smaller assembly to the outside center of your base frame.
Step 2
It’s time to assemble the top frame of your loading cart.
This can either be done vertically and one piece at a time; or you can assemble the whole frame on the floor before standing it up and then maneuvering it into place on top of your base frame. We recommend installing it vertically, piece by piece.
First, start by grabbing thee 35” T-Slot Rails. You’ll want to install these vertically in the appropriate places (as seen in the above diagram) using Angle Joints.
Then, go ahead and secure these to each other with two 13.5” rails, again using Angle Joints to connect them.
Finally, add a 30” rail to the top with Angle Joints, in order to complete your vertical cart frame.
Step 3
Almost there! Just need to add some bracing to your frame.
Go ahead and install two 24” Diagonal braces to either side of your vertical frame.
Then, brace the shortest vertical rail with a 6” Diagonal rail.
And of course, don’t forget to make sure all your connections are sturdy and tight before moving on to the last step.
Step 4
Time to add the finishing touches!
To more easily install the wheels, you might want to turn your cart on its side.
Then, go ahead and attach your Pull Handles and Bin Box Holders to the top of the cart (or wherever you would like them).
And don’t forget the end caps! Every exposed corner should get one.
And that’s it. Congratulations.
Happy carting!
