Wall Wooden Plant Shelf Assembly Steps

Step 1: Building the Main Structure of the Plant Shelf

First of all, remember to have your security gear on.

You will need in this step two 1x1" 13" long lumber, one 1x1" 16" long lumber and finally a 1x1" 14" long lumber.

Grab the 1x1” 16” long lumber and affix the 13” long lumber to the sides with a basic butt joint. This addition should be on the bottom edge of the lumber and not on the sides, please look at the image.

You then place the 14" long lumber in the middle of the 13" long lumber. You can use 1" nails and glue the wood to make sure you have a sturdy assembly.

Step 2: Building the Base of the Plant Shelf

We will now build the base of this plant shelf. This basically looks like an “I”. Grab two 1x1" 4" long and place them in between the 1x1" 14" long. Make sure it's in the middle. As before, make a basic butt joint and add some glue to the connections.

Step 3: Building the Front section of the Plant Shelf

Now we're going to focus on the front section of the shelf. We'll make a long rectangle. So grab one 1x 1" 16" long lumber, and place on each end under the lumber the 1x1" 4" long lumber. As we did before with the bigger section that looks like a square. Then place at the base of the rectangle the 1x1'' long 14'' lumber. This should be placed in between the 4'' long lumber.

Now you're placing the base and finally the main structure. The main structure is the one that will be affixed to the wall.

Step 4: The Perfect Finish for the Plant Shelf

The final step is to sand all the lumber, giving it a smooth finish and then adding your favorite varnish. You can also give it different textures and colors depending on your home's style.
