Instructions
A note before starting -
Please understand - the below diagrams are genuinely and carefully designed to help you navigate the build process. However, we don’t include specific recommendations for which tools, hardware, or products to use. These truly are “DIY” designs.
As such – a significant portion of the build-process will be up to you, the builder. So please know, there is no “right” or “wrong” way to assemble any of our designs! If you need to depart from the instructions, or rearrange things along the way, feel free to.
The only thing we ask: please be safe! And of course, there’s no shame in asking an expert for help or seeking guidance from your local professionals at any time.
And please: enjoy the process!
Step 1
In order to proceed with this step, it is essential to refer to the previous diagram, which illustrates how the frames are created by combining the 2x4 and 1x4 profiles. For the backrest, you will need to position two 1x4 profiles, each measuring 50 inches in length, to accommodate three 2x4 profiles. One 2x4 profile should be placed in the center, while the remaining two are to be positioned at each end.
As for the seat, you will need to place two 1x4 profiles alongside a single 2x4 profile in the middle, measuring 21 inches in length.
The side frames are constructed using 2x4 profiles arranged in an H-shape. The vertical profiles should have a length of 33 inches, while the intermediate profile should measure 21 inches.
Please note that the red arrows in the diagram indicate the points where each element needs to be connected or joined.
Step 2
Once you have successfully assembled the main structure frames, it is time to position the 1x4 profiles to cover the entire surface area of the seat and backrest. These profiles should measure 50 inches in length.
For the backrest of the bench, a total of 4 profiles will be required.
As for the seat, you will need a total of 5 profiles.
Additionally, you will need a 1x4 profile measuring 21 inches in length to serve as the arms of the bench.
Step 3
Caution is advised during this step as it involves joining the two previously assembled benches together. The benches should be positioned opposite each other, while maintaining the same construction system and the same number of profiles.
To proceed, construct the central connecting piece by placing a 2x4 profile measuring 33 inches in length between the benches. This central piece should have two perpendicular 2x4 profiles, each measuring 17 inches in length, attached at the upper end.
Lastly, for the section that will serve as the table, place two 1x10 boards with a length of 22.5 inches onto the previously built frame.
Congratulations! You have successfully completed your corner bench. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy your new addition!
